What’s the message?

Working smoke alarms give you the best chance to escape if a fire does start in your home. Test them weekly.

Cooking is responsible for most of the house fires we attend. Please take extra care in the kitchen and if you come home from a night out don’t attempt to cook, buy a takeaway instead.

Firefighters strike this weekend

Firefighters are on strike this Friday and Saturday night (13 and 14 December) from 6pm to 10pm.

Please take extra care to avoid a fire, as our 999 service will be severely depleted.

Top tips for staying safe during the strike include:

  • Don’t leave cooking unattended – and switch off cooking appliances after use
  • Never use a chip pan – oven chips are much safer
  • Test your smoke alarms – by holding down the ‘test’ button until it beeps

Supporting Vibrant High Streets in Sheffield Brochure

12 Dec

Good Afternoon,

Our High Streets and District/Local Centres play a crucial role at the hearts of local communities. The economic downturn combined with changes in peoples shopping habits has brought new challenges to these Centres.

As part of the national celebration for small independent businesses on Saturday the 7th December 2013, we have developed a brochure which showcases the range of projects initiated and funded by Sheffield City Council to support businesses and high streets across the city. Please find the brochure attached.

The brochure includes a collaboration from the Successful Centres Programme, The City Centre Management Team and Creative Sheffield and details just some of the innovative projects which have been carried out to support independent trade over the last three years.

We hope you enjoy the brochure and of course please feel free to pass this onto colleagues within your organisation. If you have any questions about any of the content please get in touch.

Kind Regards
