Apprenticeships in the NHS 16 – 25 year olds

Good afternoon,

It gives me great pleasure to let you know of another exciting opportunity for young people to gain experience and knowledge about working in the NHS.

Our next course “Get into NHS” will run from Monday 26th January until Friday 15th February 2015.

As you will see from the attached flyer young people who complete this course will:

 Gain practical work experience in a variety of departments such as catering, cleaning and estates

 Have the chance to learn how to keep the wards clean, distribute food to patients, deal with special diets, communicate with customers and maintain the grounds.

 Have the chance to gain training in Health and Safety and Manual Handling.

 Improve your teamwork, communication skills and boost your confidence, interview skills and CV

 Receive six month’s support after the programme to help you find a job

You may remember we ran this course earlier this year and the young people who completed this gain exceptional experience and many are now serving an apprenticeship within the NHS Trust.

As before this course will be run from Tickhill Road Hospital, Doncaster.

If you are working with or know any young people aged 16-25, are unemployed and interested in a career within the NHS they are welcome to join our FREE training programme next year.

As you will see I have attached the flyer for this course which gives more information together with a referral form which should be used for any young person who may have additional needs of support or who have a conviction.

SYPTE Have Your Say! Consultation Response

The results of our Have Your Say! consultation are now published on the SYPTE website. You can access the findings at www.sypte.co.uk/haveyoursay

We would like to thank you for your support in both taking part in this consultation and also encouraging others to take the opportunity to have their say. In total we had 1570 responses from people who gave us their views on the areas covered – timetables, bus stops and shelters, interchanges and travel information centres.

The findings of this consultation will inform the SCR Combined Authority meeting on Monday 5 January where the budget will be set.

Job Vacancy: Page Hall Medical Centre Receptionist

We wish to recruit a receptionist to work in our very busy inner city practice.

 

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have a good command of written and spoken English
  • Have reception experience in a customer environment
  • Have good telephone skills
  • Be computer literate
  • Have an understanding of confidentiality
  • Be a quick learner
  • And be able to work in an often high-pressure environment.

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Provide a comprehensive reception service, dealing with telephone calls, meeting and greeting patients, and using the clinical computer system to book appointments and register new patients.

 

Deal with requests for repeat prescriptions.

 

Open and distribute mail, scan and file documents into medical notes.

 

Understand issues and maintain confidentiality at all times.

 

Hours: 16 hours a week

 

Pay: £7.60 per hour

 

Closing date: 10/12/14
